Flip 2007 had an exciting assortment of animation treats, including a screening of French Computer Animation introduced by Professor Paul Wells; a retrospective and talk from the award winning animator, Erica Russell; panels on Stop Motion and Animation in the You Tube Generation; a special focus on Sherbet Animation Studio and as a grand finale, we had the master of puppet animation Barry Purves in conversation. We also introduced a fascinating and innovative element into the programme: Drawing in the Digital, an academic symposium looking at the relationship between older animation forms and techniques and emerging ones.
