From the traditional techniques of frame by frame illustration to computer software, young people can learn all about animation and make their own films in our half term workshops.

Computer animation. Ages 11 – 14.

Teacher's animation workshop

Venue: Light House, Training Room
An excellent opportunity for professional development. Teachers can come and try a hands-on approach to animation. If you are thinking about introducing animation to your students, come along and discover for yourself the benefits that it has for learning. The workshop will introduce you to the basic skills of traditional and computer animation techniques, and will be an opportunity to discuss ideas with industry professionals and animation experts.

Venue: Light House, Studio Cinema
A rare chance to see work created by budding young animators. Selected by a panel of education and animation experts these films are a diverse example of the kind of work being produced by children and young people, working both with adult support and independently.
This event has been part-organised by the specialist status Media Arts Centre based at Thomas Adams School in Shropshire.
