Welcome to Flip 2006.
This year's festival is bigger, longer and packed with exciting screenings, panels, workshops and talks. Flip started 3 years ago and has grown to become an international festival with programmes from Denmark and Hungary and submissions from around the world.
This year's highlights include a BAFTA sponsored retrospective of Slinky Pictures followed by a talk and Q & A with producer Maria Manton and director Leigh Hodgkinson; a specially curated screening and talk from Professor Paul Wells who has put together a personal best of British Animation; Panels on mobile content, games, web animation; retrospective from up and coming animation duo, Brothers McLeod; AIR archive selection and talks with some of the animators; Selection of award winning shorts from Kecskemét Animation Film Festival in Hungary. And watch out for ‘Open Shorts': this year Flip made a general call for submissions and received an abundance of animations from around the world, including award winners and lots of premieres.
