Screen Forum: Digital Shorts 06-07
June's Screen Forum was a special public screening of the projects chosen to be produced as part of the 06/07 Digital Shorts programme from Screen WM.
The short films range from CGI and stop motion animation, psychological drama, coffee-shop comedy to the most original documentary of the year: this year's slate is the most eclectic yet. The screening was followed by a panel disscussion with the film makers, and Q&A session.

Screen Forum: Pitching and Cannes Survival guide
May's forum, supported by BAFTA and Screen WM, will focus on pitching and will provide a timely opportunity for those thinking about taking their ideas to Cannes later in the month. The event will feature a workshop and talk by Julian Friedmann from Blake Friedmann Literary, Film & TV Agency. Julian is the author of How to Make Money Scriptwriting and publishes the UKs only scriptwriting magazine, the Scriptwriter. He has been teaching pitching for the last 17 years and has been a frequent visitor at Cannes.
This will be followed by a pitching panel where members of the audience will pitch to industry experts.
In addition to Julian Friedmann the panel will comprise:
Roger Shannon , who has 25 years experience in the film industry, as producer, executive producer, financier, Film Festival Director, writer and broadcaster
Peter Rudge, who sits on BAFTA's Council and their Education and Events committee and has spent time working with Colombia Pictures and Universal TV in Los Angeles before taking up a teaching post at Staffordshire University.
Lee Thomas, who has over 10 years experience in feature production and is currently Head of Production at Screen WM where he has acted as executive producer on a number of high profile films, including Confetti, The Road to Guantanamo and Straightheads.

Screen Forum: Actors and Directors
The April Screen Forum focused on Directors and actors, the working relationship between them and gave an insight to the casting process.
The event was held at Light House, Wolverhampton on Thursday 19 th April and was chaired by Professor Ray Johnson from Staffordshire University .
The discussion panel were Derrick Knight from the actors centre, BBC drama award winner Paul Hardy, actor Laurence Saunders and actor Rob Stanley.

Screen Forum: Brummiewood
On Jan 18th at Light House, the Screen Forum event presented the Brummiewood 3 Short films, and was followed by a Q and A session chaired by Peggy Patterson. The speakers were Alex Jones, writer of ‘Marvellous Motors’ and Mark Pressdee the director of ‘Marvellous Motors’. Yvonne Brissett, writer of ‘The Simple Truth’ and Paul Leather the directorof ‘The Simple Truth’. Screen Forum is a regular meeting of practitioners and agencies who are involved in screen based creative industries within the region.
